This Privacy Policy explains how YSTL (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Hablo mobile application. By using Hablo, you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information to operate the app:

• Account information: email address, username, display name, and optional profile photo.
• Precise location: your device GPS location, used to show nearby places and people and to power check-ins. Location is processed while you use discovery features.
• User content: check-ins, status badges, and messages you send to other users.
• Device and push data: device push tokens (Apple APNs / Google FCM) used to deliver notifications, plus basic device and diagnostic information.
• Usage data: interactions needed to provide and improve core features.

How We Use Your Information

• Provide proximity-based discovery, check-ins, and 1:1 messaging.
• Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
• Send push notifications you have enabled (messages, connection activity).
• Maintain safety, including enforcing blocking, reporting, and moderation.
• Diagnose problems and improve the app.

Location Data

Location is central to Hablo. We use your precise location to surface nearby venues and people within a limited radius and to record check-ins you choose to make. You can disable location sharing at any time in your device settings, and privacy controls such as Ghost mode let you reduce your visibility. Disabling location will limit discovery features.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us run the app, and only as needed:

• Supabase — backend hosting, authentication, database, storage, and realtime sync.
• Google Maps Platform — map rendering and nearby place data.
• Apple and Google — push notification delivery and optional social sign-in.
• Resend — transactional email delivery.

Profile details you choose to make visible (such as display name, photo, and active check-ins) are shared with other users as part of the core social experience.

Data Retention & Deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account, which permanently removes your profile, check-ins, messages, and connections. You may also request deletion by emailing privacy@hablo.app. See Account & Data Deletion for details.

Security

We use industry-standard safeguards, including database Row Level Security and encrypted connections, to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information using commercially reasonable measures.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.

Children’s Privacy

Hablo is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
